Hieroglyphs, Fortune Tellers and Nature

Colored wire

A lone wire figure balances on a tight wire. Perched between circular ‘Earth’ and an ancient ancestor on the other, aware of our ancestors who warned us, and futurists who now predict that we are heading towards an Earth crisis. Is it too late?

Asia Scudder, sculptor, is interested in the environment and our ancestry. Simple baling wire unfolds into fluid line with strength and whimsy. Best in Show (Sculpture) at the Newburyport Arts Association 2015, and Venice Biennale 2001.
