Sinikka Nogelo

Arachne, Goddess of Weaving

loom waste, canvas, yarn, acrylic paint, fabric waterproofing, possibly pins, needles, wood, metal pole

I see thread as the foundation for paintings and also something to be torn, fringed and collaged onto canvas. When sculpting I like to use recyclables. Here I combine canvas and paint with loom waste, weaving scraps, and more.

Working from her studio on Gloucester’s Cripple Cove Sinikka Nogelo is an artist in several media expressions - from sculpture to paint. She likes to use a variety of materials - whatever she thinks will suit her thoughts in the making.
