Londoner Spindle

Before the Twin Lights, many ships were lost, blown onto Londoner Reef off Rockport. Lives lost on that edge of rock are memorialized by these sails (fins, waves, wings) spiraling around an “isolated danger” warning spindle capped with a sphere.

Jim is a silversmith graduate of RISD who became a machine builder, with a year of boatbuilding. In retirement, he reclaimed art forms of his youth: photography, painting, and putting together pieces.
