Stop Redlining
Hemp rope, utility flags and metal cable for hanging
Redlining refers to the city maps that were drawn in the 1930’s designating the property value grading system by the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation. The redlined neighborhoods were the poorest and thus denied investment and potential for any accumulation of generational wealth.
My sculpture refers to not only the physical meaning of the theme Reach but to the effects of the acts of a former time reaching down to today.
