Box Lot Betty

Mortar compound, hypertufa, plexiglass, acrylic paint and sealer, aluminum pipe.

In an auction box lot containing miscellaneous items, I found Betty's 1928 scrapbook filled with her favorite silent screen stars, letters, and a funeral program with her photo, smiling against a granite column by the sea. Betty's passage in life was brief, ending in 1928 at age 17. The sculpture captures a passing moment in time.

This is my first year at Maudsley! I am a graphic designer and painter. I serve on the Board of the Methuen Historical Society, working to keep the past alive. Preserving images, artifacts, and buildings that would otherwise vanish forever.
