Squaring the Circle

Marine plywood, epoxy, varnish, fasteners

Squaring a Circle (constructing a square equal in area to a given circle using only a compass and straightedge) is a famously impossible problem from Greek geometry. However, all things are possible at Maudlsay--especially if they pass through a wormhole!

Eric Olson teaches math and art at Pingree School in S.Hamilton, where he sometimes contributes sculptures to the Flying Horse Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. He lives in Newburyport with his wife, Diana.
