“A Flight Above the Garden” evokes the gentle parabolic trajectory of a ball flying over the Italian garden. The support of this piece relies on the same tension components as the nearby Chain Bridge: a main suspension cable and 19 vertical suspender cables.
Joe Fix is a structural engineer living in Newbury. This is the 15th year he has participated in the Maudslay outdoor sculpture exhibit.
