Within These Walls

Foam, paper, twigs, paint, wood

The symbolic Feng Shui blue rhino may have been revered by the Mosely Family in the form of a small statue, perhaps to help deal with a worry of the rich living in that heyday. They may have believed it meant they were protected from being robbed of their good fortune! Their generation was being influenced by Asian art and folklore brought back from the Far East. The rhino’s spirit may still oversee today’s remaining grounds and is revisiting Maudslay’s gardens today.
