Blue

Painted wood and branching, mylar, felt

Blue and white porcelain’s history originated with the Persian and Chinese trade. New European markets increased demand and culturally mixed patterns emerged. The most popular was the Chinese fable, Willow. Our sculpture incorporates contemporary clichés of “blue” into a familiar but different take on this ageless pattern.
