Deforestation

cut tree sections

Each tree section and stump represents 750 million trees estimated to be lost to deforestation each year.

As a former two-term poet laureate of North Andover MA, artist, and editor, my art speaks to nature’s beauty and resiliency, the earth’s and democracy’s fragility, and the possibility of positive action. Gayle C. Heney’s sculptures appeared in Maudslay State Park and Pingree School. Her pottery/assemblages appeared at the Whistler House Museum of Art, and AIGMV’s 2022 Show, where she won Best in Show. Her art speaks to the earth’s fragility/political threats.
